Local Agreement on GER Compensation: Jan
21 2002
This agreement was ratified on Feb 20 2002. The vote to
ratify was: Yes-48; No-1; Abstain-1
3. Compensation for Interdisciplinary
Team-Taught GER Core Courses: HIGHLIGHTS
- Participation is voluntary.
- Each team member to receive 6 hours per course per semester load credit.
- Each member to receive a $2,500 course preparation stipend in the summer before
first teaching a team-taught interdisciplinary course.
- Starting in AY 2002-2003, the Provost to make available $10,000 per year for the
purchase of curricular materials related to the core courses.
- Starting in AY 2002-2003, the Provost to provide funds for travel to 1 or 2
conferences related to the teaching of interdisciplinary team-taught general education
courses by up to 1/3 of the faculty participants in that year.
- When used for personnel actions, the student evaluations in the GER core courses
are limited to the faculty members individual discussion sections.
- A faculty member may submit a new or changed FSIP proposal related to this
teaching program.
- In consultation with Local 1904, the Administration will alter the teaching criterion in Appendix II for personnel
actions so as to acknowledge participation in teaching such courses.
