This list clarifies the meaning and boundaries of the expression in Article III, concerning "significantly beyond the usual work hours for a given position"

The following situations do constitute "significantly . . . "

1. 20 hours extra per week for several weeks .

2. About 3 hours once a day every week for 5 weeks.

3. 7 days a week for 3 weeks.

4. An additional 3 hours in the evening of a single day, assuming those hours are on top of the regular work week.

5. If no specific anticipation by the supervisor is involved, but the employee keeps getting asked for a few hours this day or that week. This regular pattern of "significant" extra hours is the equivalent of having anticipation and therefore merits comp time.

6. A supervisor may not use the idea that "you are the only person who can do this work," or "No one else has the skills to do this work," as a means to circumvent this agreement.

7. The Union notes that our Professional Staff people are not looking for and have never asked for minute by minute comp time.
